Boomer Pill Case
March 2020 - April 2020
For my fundamentals of product design class we were challenged to design pill cases for a specific generation, for us it was the baby boomer generation. To accomplish this design, we had to interview baby boomers and other potential stakeholders and then come up with a variety of designs. After performing a variety of evaluations, we settled upon the final design. As the only ME student in our team, I drafted our model in Solidworks and looked into manufacturing methods such as injection molding.
Intial Napkin Sketches
After interviewing, researching, and identifying our need and problem statements, our team started to rapidly sketch out potential ideas, at this point focusing on quantity more than quality. Each sketch is drawn with a target persona in mind, but the priority is on quantity.

Refined Concepts
With the napkin sketches, we then did a variety of analysis of each type of concept to try to pinpoint a design. Once we had a selected a couple that we liked, we worked to create more detailed sketches, isolating the actual human interaction components of the product.
Final Model
From the refined concept sketches, another round of analysis was done included a SWOT analysis as well as manufacturing feasibility was done before settling on a final design. This final design was then modeled in Solidworks to for a final design.
